How do you collect Porcelain Dolls?Please help?

Okey, i got a colectible porcelain doll for my names day and dont know exactly how you collect it.Do you keep them in boxes and never open them or do you open them and put them on some place people can see.Do you consider them as toys??/It a disney princess by the way.please help.
