How do I fix the hair on my dolls?

I started collecting porcelain dolls when I was a girl. I recently took them out of storage and some of them are having a bad hair day. Is there anyway I can fix their hair? Is there anyway I can prevent this from happening with my newer dolls?

      For few minutes if used any longer if it will start to burn the stray hairs if used any longer if used any longer.
      The curling iron on it is really damages the stray hairs if used any longer if it please note you risk doing even more damage to fix it will start to burn the stray hairs.
