Last month, a quite frustrated Nicole blogged about her work on making the album, saying “I’ve been working on this album non stop for two years now…dang, I can’t believe it’s been that long…but as the old saying goes, good things come with time. I wanted to make sure coming out my first time as a solo artist, that the music would represent me, Nicole, individually…IN THE END, I KNOW THE WORK, PASSION AND LOVE PUT INTO MAKING THIS ALBUM WILL SPEAK FOR ITSELF. I just wait for the day to share it with all of you…and that day is a comin!”

Meanwhile, Nicole Scherzinger gave the fans a chance to become part of the decision making process on the next single for the album. Fans voted and a song was indeed chosen, one that may be familiar to Pussycat Dolls Present fans who’ve been tuning in to the CW lately.

“Puakenikeni” is the title of the song selected by the fans and it was featured in the fall promos for the CW Network. However, in the promos, the song had different lyrics and was titled “Get Into It,” but was still sung by Nicole herself. The promos also highlighted the new seasons of shows America ’s Next Top Model, Beauty and the Geek and Pussycat Dolls Present.

Produced by Akon, “Puakenikeni” was released on December 18, and was met with mixed reviews, much like her previous singles, “Whatever U Like” and “Baby Love.” The song’s title refers to the Hawaiian flower, the Yellow Hibiscus.

In more Pussycat Dolls news, the girls have alluded to a potential 2008 album release for the group, so fans must be excited to hear that Nicole and the rest of the Dolls will be busy this new year.
